Beating the rake

I have done some work on the PokerStars rake to work out Return On Investment (ROI) % and to track how I am doing.

The rake is something that happens on all sites, it is a fee you pay to play. You can get rakeback deals where you play, pay rake to the site, but they return some to you. In some cases this can be up to 40% so well worth looking into.

PokerStars do not do rakeback deals, but do a VIP program which returns cash to you as you earn player points. Click here for more information. I will try factor in what the VIP points are worth at a later date, for now this is without any VIP returns.

I looked at my win rate and wanted to know what my break even point is having paid $1.07 for a game I can only win $2 from. If you look at the table below you will see I lose if my Win Rate is less than 54%.

I am currently 8.41% ROI on games played at the $1 level, plenty good enough to profit long term. My sample size is not big enough to make too many long term predictions from though, so I won't.

All I know is I am winning and need to keep playing more games and learn more about HU play.
