Review Session

With PokerStars doing some server maintenance, SNGs were not available so I played a couple of games on William Hill poker where I had some money left and then looked at my HEM (Holdem Manager) data to see how profitable games were for me at the micro buy ins. The graphs below are all at $2 max buy in:

The total graph shows all games played (242) with a total of $23.31 profit and a 8.7% ROI, pretty crap for 57.9 hours of game time really.

HU SNGs show a profit of $6.21 with 4.5% ROI.

Full table SNGs I have a profit of $17.10 at a 13.4% ROI, even though I spewed a load in the last few games by 4 tabling while tired, twice.

6 Max SNGs are showing a profit of $23.97 at an ROI of 36.9% and as you can see the graph does look pretty.

Overall each discipline is profitable, but 6 max is far and away the best game I have at the micro stakes. Playing a super tight style especially in the early blind levels pays off well.

I do think I have done better in the end of these games recently due to having played the HU SNGs. The situations I get into are not as daunting and I feel able to let things go where before I would have shoved hoping to get it over quickly. Now I am willing to fight for the 1st place instead of taking it if it happened along.

Since the start of May I have played 147 games either 6max  SNGs or HU SNGs at the $1 to $1.50 level (weird as they just changed, and are probably changing again) and am on 11.1% ROI. Now this is not a massive sample size, but I think it clearly indicated where I need to focus to move my game forward.

Although this started out as a HU blog, I am going to settle with it being a SNG blog and play pretty much all 6 max SNGs from now on with some HU added.
